The Internet of Value

What Is Wellbecoming?

A plain-language pillar guide to Wellbecoming as The Internet of Value protocol layer for physiology, emotion, feeling, thought, habit, and performance context.

Quick Answer

Wellbecoming is the process-layer of wellbeing in motion. In The Internet of Value, ~WellbecomingProtocol interprets captured activity through physiology, emotion, feeling, thought, habit, and performance context.

It answers a different question from "what did someone produce?" It asks what human state and capability context surrounded the activity, and whether any performance output should be routed to community validation.

Why It Matters Now

Economic and organizational systems often treat people as output sources. They can see tasks, payments, credentials, attendance, dashboards, and delivery dates more easily than they can see the state in which work happened.

That misses important context:

  • recovery can be valuable before it produces output
  • learning may matter before it becomes a credential
  • care work may be high-value even when it is not paid
  • stress, focus, habit, and feeling can shape what a time slice means
  • performance output should not be confused with private human state

Wellbecoming gives the protocol stack a way to interpret value formation without reducing a person to productivity.

Internet of Value Interpretation

The Internet of Value uses Wellbecoming to connect a value-capture event with human context.

~ValueCaptureProtocol records the bounded event. ~WellbecomingProtocol receives the same ~~~~ProtocolLinkId and interprets the event through six Level 2 nodes:

  • ~~Physiology
  • ~~Emotion
  • ~~Feeling
  • ~~Thought
  • ~~Habit
  • ~~Performance

The first five can remain private wellbeing context. ~~Performance is the public gateway: when there is learning, earning, or organization-building output, ~SAOcommons can validate it.

Protocol Grounding

The canonical Wellbecoming nodes are:

  • ~~Physiology: movement, rest, diet, fasting, breathwork, biomarkers, and body composition.
  • ~~Emotion: neurochemical and affective signals such as dopamine, serotonin, cortisol, adrenaline, oxytocin, and related markers.
  • ~~Feeling: felt states such as love and affection, joy and humor, compassion and sorrow, anger, courage, fear, disgust, wonder, peace, and dominant feeling.
  • ~~Thought: cognitive state, thinking system, mental model, cognitive bias, and consciousness.
  • ~~Habit: cue, routine, reward, consistency, and streak.
  • ~~Performance: learning output, earning output, organization-building output, deliverable reference, skill application, and community context.

The Performance Gateway Rule is central: ~SAOcommons activates only when ~~Performance has a learning, earning, or organization-building output. If performance outputs are zero or absent, the flow can update ~WellbeingIdentity as private state without engaging SAOcommons.

Practical Example

Two people each spend three hours on the same task. A normal dashboard may treat those hours as equal.

Wellbecoming can distinguish context:

  • one person is learning a new skill and needs coaching
  • another is recovering from overload and needs rest before more work
  • a third produces a public deliverable that requires community validation
  • a fourth contributes invisible coordination that should be acknowledged but not exposed publicly

The purpose is not to rank people by private state. The purpose is to avoid pretending that all time and output have the same human context.

What It Does Not Claim

Wellbecoming does not claim that a protocol can fully know a person.

It does not turn private physiology, emotion, or feeling into public credentials.

It does not replace clinical care, social care, or human conversation.

It creates a careful distinction between private state, performance output, community validation, and identity update.

FAQ

Is Wellbecoming the same as wellbeing?

No. Wellbeing often describes a condition or outcome. Wellbecoming emphasizes change through time: how state, habit, thought, feeling, physiology, and performance evolve around lived activity.

Does Wellbecoming measure biological health?

The protocol defines fields that can hold physiology-related signals, but any implementation must stay within its evidence boundary. A software interface must not claim to know biology unless it has appropriate measurement, consent, and validation.

Why is Performance separate?

Performance is the bridge from private context to public or community-facing output. It is the only Wellbecoming node that conditionally activates ~SAOcommons.

How does Wellbecoming update identity?

Wellbecoming flows into ~WellbeingIdentity, especially ~~IdentityState/~~~WellbeingScore, under provenance and consent rules. Public credential-like updates require performance and community validation rather than direct exposure of private state.
