The Word Wallet Primitive
A wallet around meaning
A Word Wallet is a governed record associated with a registered expression. It is designed to hold references about stewardship, versions, attribution, contributions, and future value-flow rules. The word *wallet* signals an account-like boundary, but it must not be confused with a cryptocurrency wallet in the current implementation.
In Phase 1, a Word Wallet is registered for future attribution research. It activates no token, payout, ownership, equity, royalty, or other financial right.
What belongs in the primitive
A minimal Word Wallet can point to:
- the registered expression it serves;
- its status and governing version;
- stewards and accountable handler relationships;
- contribution and invocation receipts that are safe to retain;
- policy references for consent, disputes, deletion, and revision;
- future mechanisms, explicitly marked inactive until governed and implemented.
Raw personal input does not belong in a public wallet. Nor should a wallet imply that a phrase can be privately owned. Language is relational and historically layered. The primitive records accountable participation around an expression; it does not enclose ordinary speech.
Attribution before monetization
Digital systems often jump from attention to payment without establishing a defensible contribution model. Word Wallet Web reverses that order. It starts with provenance, consent, and contribution graphs. Only after governance and empirical testing could a community decide whether any value-flow mechanism is appropriate.
Attribution itself must remain contestable. A contribution can be duplicated, coerced, overstated, or impossible to compare. Records therefore need evidence classes, timestamps, version context, and dispute routes rather than a universal points table.
Current implementation boundary
The working Cortisol Checker record demonstrates a registered Word Wallet identifier and registered status. That is implementation evidence for the relationship between expression and wallet. It is not evidence that the future economic model is active.
This boundary protects both readers and participants. Research language should describe what exists today before inviting belief in what might exist tomorrow.
