Observer Attention and the Represented Observer
Observer Attention Is All You Need supplied the deeper frame. Measurement is never simply “out there.” Someone observes, from somewhere, at a particular moment, carrying a prior state and a set of relationships.
The paper asked whether value capture could represent that observer and the observed time slice. Its equation VC = W × Vcom remains a research scaffold, not an established economic law. Its durable insight is simpler: a content signal and a human response are not the same object.
Deterministic patterns found in the language.
How strongly the observer says it affected them and which identity facets it touched.
A consented link between person, moment, expression, and result.
This is why identity should not be used to alter the public content score. The same text should receive the same deterministic result for every person. ~WellbeingIdentity instead establishes the participant, consent boundary, public-profile context, and ability to retain a personal observation over time.
The current personal-response method is intentionally transparent: the participant reports one impact score from 0–100 and selects canonical identity facet paths such as Values, Virtues, Skills, or Story. Publicly disclosed values may be shown to the participant; no private value enters the calculation, and no facet is inferred.
Observer Attention therefore becomes operational without pretending to predict the observer. It makes room for their voice.
